The Intensive English Program is a non-credit program offered three times per year. Fall term (September to December), Spring term (January to May) and summer term (May to August) each offered in two 7-week (Part I, Part II) blocks to allow the flexibility of elective curriculum choice. Each week students attend 18 hours of classes. This allows flexibility in terms of admissions, course offerings and, what is most important, allows to adjust the length of the program to national standards and norms of the Intensive English Programs field.
The intensive program has seven levels of proficiency from Low Beginning to Advanced Intermediate. To preserve the sequential unanimity of the Program main levels 1-6, their syllabus is designed to incorporate similar courses (Conversation, Grammar, American Culture). Now the Program also includes optional pre-Advanced level 7 with several content-based courses and a 2-term TOEFL preparation course that includes development of academic vocabulary.
Entering students take English proficiency placement test. Students are placed into classes based on placement test scores.
